Student Life Services

Do you agree to consider all SFUO Student Services as Student Life Services (SLS) and allow them to access the SLS Emergency Fund (SLS General Fund)?

The “Vote YES” referendum committee’s platform

Vote yes to making all services equal. Seven years ago, students voted to give the then 4 services access to an Emergency Fund of money to better serve the university population. Thus, the Peer Help Centre, Foot Patrol, International House and the Pride Centre were classified as Student Life Services (SLS) and were given access to the SLS Emergency Fund, a fund that is rarely used to its full capacity.

Over the past few years, the SFUO has grown but every new service has not been given access to this emergency fund. In order to ensure that the other 6 services-the Bilinguilism Centre, the Centre for Students with Disabilities, the Centre for Equity and Human Rights, the Women’s Resource Centre, the Bon Appetit Food Bank and the Student Appeal Centre-have equal access to the SLS Emergency Fund and are able to serve you better, vote yes. This change will cost you absolutely no money and will enrich the quality of all your services. Vote yes to a more efficient SFUO. Vote yes to making all services equal.
