Well… What is there to say? 27.2%.
That is more than the last two elections combined. That number is almost 30% larger than a longer, more divisive and controversial CFS referendum. 27.2% represents a whopping 8201 students. Is that enough? No. Far from. But it is a start. Expect bigger and better in the coming years.

Well, that’s $200 I didn’t win, but I lose it HAPPILY to see that undergrads at the U of O spoke louder than ever!

Le travail qu’a mis le Bureau des élections dans la visibilité/l’information aura un impact sur les élections 2010. Qui sait… peut-être qu’on aura plus de 30% l’année prochaine!

Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to 1848 tonight but I am doing a little democracy dance to celebrate this first step into next year.
This was the most engaging uOttawa election ever. More people seemed to be informed and talking about the process than I’ve ever witnessed. Great job to everyone that had any part in it -including those that facilitated the use of technology. How effective was online voting? and how can we keep the momentum going with everyone that got engaged throughout the elections process [and this site]?

INCROYABLE! Voici la première pensée qui a passé à mon esprit lorsque j’ai appris que 27.2% des étudiants et étudiantes de l’U d’O ont décidé de voter. Je dois vous admettre que je n’étais pas du tout convaincu que le vote en ligne améliorerait la situation. Heureusement, cela a été prouvé autrement!
J’aimerais féliciter l’entièreté des candidats et candidates qui ont eu le courage de se présenter aux élections 2009. Même si vous n’avez pas gagné, je crois l’expérience de vie que vous aviez gagnée en vous présentant a faite en sorte que cela aurait valu la peine.
En même temps, j’aimerais aussi féliciter ceux et celles qui ont remporté les différents postes respectifs. Je suis certain que vous alliez très bien représenter la population étudiante de l’U d’O.
En dernier lieu, félicitation à l’équipe d’élection de la FÉUO! Sans les bénévoles dévoués de votre équipe, l’élection n’aurait peut-être pas été un si grand succès! Finalement, félicitation à ceux et celles qui ont contribué à ce site web afin de garder la population étudiante informée tout au long de la campagne! Cela a réussi à garder de nombreux.ses étudiants.es réveillés pendant les heures de classe!

Awesome job, elections! You really brung it this year
The posters got my attention for sure… and I LOVED the e-vote. So clean, so simple. From the comfort and convenience of my own home… With ready access to platforms and interviews with the candidates… with no line-ups, no tired poll clerks who can never seem to find my student number in those huge lists (nobody’s fault, just ill luck)… it was beautiful!
Congratulations and good luck in 2010! I hope you guys are throwing yourselves an appreciation party, ’cause you deserve one!
I predict no e-vote next year and 15 % turnout.
