It really is that easy. All you need to do, to win $200, is leave a comment (with your real email address) with what you believe the voter turn-out will be. The person that comes closest (up to the decimal) will win $200.
Just to give people a general idea of what they can expect, here are recent voter turn-outs at the University of Ottawa:
2006: 18,8%
2007: 14,4%
2008: 12,2%
2008 (by-election): 3%
CFS Referendum 2008: 22%
Our initial objective was 30%. That being said, we raised our objective to 50.4%.
Anyone can participate. You have until 9PM on Thursday to make your prediction. Don’t forget, you need to put a decimal.
So come on. Leave a comment. What do you have to lose?

Hopefully more. But I’m not feeling statistical at 5:54 am.
37.6%
If there’s much more than that, it will be almost like a real election. And we can’t have that.
23.4%
Apparently… I have to write more than just that. So… here you go.
26.7%
I want it to be more but who knows!
34%! Or hopefully better with the online voting — good call getting this going.

Wordpress thinks my comment is too short…jibber jabber…
I’m thinking 31.7%
I say….48,5%
19.7%
The voter apathy oozes out of me. lol
22.8%
Just a shot in the dark
22.5% - e-voting won’t pull it up as much as you’d like.
33,2%
YES. Thanks Wassim, I was hoping someone would do this.
37.7?! That would be cool.
I say….38.2%
Im gonna with:
27.2%
hip hip hourray! for democracy!…;)
34.3%
Prove me wrong, people, go vote!
27.5%
We’ll see…
I’m thinking 28.2%
34.6%
I have a little faith in my peers!!! =) lol
17.7%
because I apparently can’t vote because I didn’t get an email sent to my uottawa account which makes me doubt I’m the only student with this problem
48.8% - but you better pray it’s more.
My guess is 32.5%
I’ll try 47.8%
I’m going low: 17.6%
61.2 go heavy or go home
Im going to say 31.4%
I am going to go with 26.3% considering I want to vote & can’t because part time students aren’t allowed.
54.1%
Sounds about right to me.
28.5% - Let’s not get our hopes too high.
i give it a nice 50%
29.5%, Let’s hope this vote on-line business encourages more students to vote…
32,2% please.
48.15162342%
20.4, one can hope
Me thinks 25.6%

….Wesley
my guess…. 38.7%
I guess 16.9%
My prediction:
29.8%
Sort of arbitrary.
I say 40.2%
Definitely 47.3%.
34.3% … let’s get out and vote! (or, sit on your butt and vote, its all the same to me…)
……18.5%………..
A little pessimistic, 20.2
31.2% is my guess.
So I’m going to guess. . . 21.2%
I’d be impressed even if you got there seeing as no one has pins to log into the online voting.
I think it will be 27.6%
24%
I still haven’t gotten my email with my Pin number so I’m tempted to say 5%
24.7
i’m mainly skeptical of online voting because no one i’ve talked to has received their pin
Unfortunately, the system is a little “not working at the moment”. Turnout will depend on the time it takes to receive PIN numbers.
If by noon, I predict 15 %.
If not by 6pm, I predict 12 %.
If no PIN by tomorrow, 8 %.
Dean “High Hopes” Haldenby. 50.5% for the win… over St. FX
I’m predicting 19.3%
I say 37,3%.
0.o% because the online vote does not work
41.3%
I’m guessing that the e-vote will be effective in capturing some non-voters. I think that 50% is a little too ambitious.
14.2% Due to the immense failure in publicizing E-Voting and its failure so far.
i will guess 32.8%
I predict 28%.
@ Matt Y: They flipped the bitch!
19.3% if you’re lucky.
I’m thinking…perhaps 18.6?
36.6% ? It is a leap year after all
Lets try with 26.5 %
35.5 percent
29.2% But seriously, where are the freakin’ PINs?
I will say 31.9%
51.4%
Beat that objective!
I will guess 35.3%
I’m gonna go with 34.6%
my guess is 29.9%
My guess is 28.7%
19.4% will be the turn out.
I will go with 11.7%
15.0%
Drastic improvements don’t happen overnight.
i would say 37%
Im thinking 26.1%
17.4%. Besides the internet vote not working very well, it’s the sick season. Fewer people will feel motivated to spend the time working out how, when, and where to vote.
I would say 30.7 %
I’d say 22.8%
aside from the electile dysfunction of the e-vote, 29.5%
My (correct) guess: 17.3%
I say 21.4%
I say 23.0%
I say 46.5%
My guess is 32.3%

41.7 %
Come on 200$!
20.6% for the win!!
I’m guessin’ … 42.6%?

My guess is 33.7 percent.
24.4% is my guess!
33.33333…% you know, one third.
ps. I can has PIN plzkthx.
36.4%
I need to fill up some space cuz it doesn’t let me submit cuz my message is too short
Just taking a stab and saying 19.8%
I guess 44.3%
How about: 37.7%
my guess is 36.2%
35.8%
I’m being optimistic
i’ll take 22.1%
i’m guessing 51.2
17.8%
That is my guess.
21.4%
We’ll see!
38.9
Although if we could break SfX’s record that would be great
64.1%. This is not a guess.
20%… i want the $$$$$
15.1%. People were walking by the tables today and talking about not voting even with it being an e-vote.
64.2 !
FINALLY, online voting.
A lot of people seem to be hovering around the 30s, which is fair considering the push, but I think it’s important to remember that historically, regardless of it being of line or on paper, voter apathy is what reigns for a majority of students. Let’s hope I get proven wrong.
29.1%
I say 23.4%
a good 18.22 percent
21.5% sounds like a fairly decent number.
16.1% will chance their privacy and give up their right to a reliable recount by voting online.
20%… or less
My prediction: 20.5%
I have no idea, but I’m going to go with 23.6%. Who knows?
My guess is 30.6%
39.4%. Even though I’d very much like to rub a higher number in St. FX’s face…
11.8%
People have midterms.
I’m putting my money on 44.6%
I’m guessing 31.1%.
I’m gonna go with…39.6%
my guess is 24.9%
I’m going to say….22,3%
17.7%
(apparently i need to type something for this to post)
26.4% is my guess.
That’s going to be 19.9%
I’ll guess 30% (thanks to online voting)
about 31.6%
42.7%
No more, no less.
19.4………………………………..
i say 26.6%
Twenty-six(point)seven percent
I’m thinking 21.6%.
24.7 percentile
I think it will be 18.6%
I never win with these kind of things .. but my guess is 19.2%
I’ll go with 30.1%
40.6% (slightly optimistic i guess)
28.0%
My comment is not too short.
It is concise.
I’ll say 28.4%
I’m guessing 15.5%
Let’s go with 30.2%
72.11 You know you want it.
My guess is 18.2%, though I of course hope this is horrendously innaccurate.
Just saw someone already picked 18.22%, so I guess i’ll narrow my guess down to 18.23%.
100%
I believe in RPG.
My guess is 29.61 %
31.7 percent F-T-W
I guess 22.0
thanks for the online voting!!
I’m going to go with a solid 35.6
i think 42.3% of the student body will vote.
I predict the voter turn-out will be 52.7%
22.2% I don’t think online voting will increase it as much as hoped.
40% - a little lofty all things considered but hey..
I say 27.7%
just because there will be confusion with recieving a new pin each day and more so since it took half a day to get the first one.
My guess is 16.7 %
I hope nobody else bid on 25.1%.
Je vais y aller avec 25.1%
if the “goal” was 30%, I’m going to assume it was based on rough stats because that would be fairly embarassing to get far below that… soo…
33.3%
I will say… 34.39%!!!
Good luck!
My guess is 34.2%!
mmm 43.5%. I want to guess higher, but I want $200 even more.
mon estimation: 29,4 %
17.7%
the online voting is definitely not encouraging people to vote
sadkjhfsdakjfsjdafhjkf
67%
26.4% is my guess.
i’m guessing 38,7%
how about 19.8%
I’d say 30.1%
I say about 37,3%
34.4% shall be the voter turnout in my opinion.
40.1%
If we actually get this we will be close to the federal election which is sad
I would hope for 100% but will predict approximately 51,3%
about 42,78%
im guessing 35.1%
im gonna say 35.2%
I’m guessing 36.1
I’ll go with 36.9%.
About 13%………………………………
I guess 42.3 %
25.17%
Let’s hope it’s at least over a quarter.
I’m hoping 33.3%
17.4%!!!

10.3% je pense bien
lol bisou j’ai aimmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee le job
11.4%
yeee
23.5% is my guess
19.6%
And I’ve never had a site tell me that my comment was too short!
19.6%
And I’ve never had a site tell me that my comment was too short!
I guess 24.5%
Put me down for 34.5%!
11.1%
That’s my guess. I am hoping the turnout is higher though!
I say it’ll be 36.5 percent
is say it will around 13%
i’m gonna say 37.3%
33,5%, pas plus.
I’m thinking 38.9%
I think is 39.5%!!!!!!!
Disons… 42,9%
My guess is 48.3 % voter turnout.
I have a little faith in our student body.
(Student Bodies. Day in, Day out… Student Bodies!)
I predict 23.7%…final offer…jp lester
If you want to be us, you better aim high. We broke our record last year, and increased it to 60.4%. Good Luck!
32.7 %
but hopefully more!
38.6 percent
34.8%
Now where is my money?
I’m going with 46.8% because that seems like an awesomely high number and seriously is almost with the Canadian voter turnout which would be ridiculous. Hopefully it’s even higher though….that would be awesome. Dream big!
Actually having said that - can I change by answer to 59,1% because that was actually the voter turnout in the last fatigue ridden election in Canada and I think we should get at least that.
first time I tried posting a comment, the site shut-down on me
here’s another try: 34.5%
tks
what happens if multiple people pick the same percent because I picked 17.7% first and I’ve seen 2 other people pick it since {I’m thinking first come first serve
}
14.2%
I like the online voting, esp with the bus strike. But now there are no long line-ups everywhere to remind people, or to think, “Hey, everyone else is doing it!”
i think 17.4 %
Approximately
52.9455%
I would say 21.21%
i say 23.7%
20.5%
If I win I will give Zena half the money!
27.0%, but it would be great for this to overshoot all expectations.
This is my prediction: 22.26%
If everyone would be telling the truth, three quarters “already voted” or “already voted online”. The whole damn thing is online. I say about half the people we asked lied and nearly all of them are horrible liars that I cought instantly.
Pathetic.
My prediction is 24,2%
My guess is 19.84%.
17,4% is my guess for voter turnout
I say 31.7%
My prediction is 22.26%, 30 would have been sweet.
23% is what I believe the voter turn out will be…I hope this message is long enough for me to be able to submit
Considering midterms, online benefits, and pre-reading week fever, I guess 31.8%
How about 33.8%?
Hopefully 24.3%
im thinking 14.75%
my guess is 33.7%
27.4
Let’s see what happens Ottawa U!
23,3 % booooy
i think 36.5%
I’m thinking we got around 42.8%.
20.4% percent
My insider, who will remain anonymous, has told me that it is 26.7% on the dot. Can’t wait for my bills!!!! make money money, make money money, gotsta get paiiiiid. My guess is 26.7%
i guess 26.8%!
Well… I’d say around 26.6%
Ben…j’dirais autour de 26,6%
I dunno. It’s hard to say. 27.1%?
I have been working off-campus, so I don’t know how effective e-voting has been, but I’m predicting that it’s probably less than 40, more than 20. So, I hope nobody pick this number yet, but I’m going for 30.9%.
BTW, just a side comment, I’m really glad that e-voting was introduced!
23.4% is my guess.
42.35 percent. Lets go for the long shot
Because a shot at $200 is never a bad thing and I had a dream last night about winning lots of money…um… 24.4%.
i say 27.8%
Probably something like 39.5%
35.5% for 200 alex
I’m going to go with 33.9% - A lot of people came out to vote for the CFS referendum - hopefully we kept the momentum going.
:)…I heard through the grapevine that the turnout was 27.2? Can anyone confirm?!?
28.6%
and that is a guarantee
Wow I was way off, but I see Micheline Leblanc put 27.1!!!!
